I have always been passionate about being an advocate for others; from standing up for friends as a child, to being an advocate as a nurse and midwife and giving others a voice through teaching education and research. Now, I support leaders to find their voice in the boardroom, to overcome their inner war zone and to find their victorious awesome authentic self that I know has always been there, but may have just got lost in their experiences of life!
It has been an incredible journey for me so far and I am only just getting started! My combined experience of 25 years’ service with the British Army and National Health Service as a health professional, combined with teaching, research and mentorship in tertiary education has led me now to be a coach (accredited with the International Coaching Foundation). I am also an international speaker, an author and specialist in wellbeing, resilience, leadership and cultural change. I design and deliver bespoke transformational programmes and I’m a regular speaker at the Women into Leadership conferences. I recently completed a research project with a global organisation to explore the issues related to women in leadership. I work with businesses to enable them to identify their values, mission and purpose to increase their engagement to reduce sickness, improve staff retention and morale by creating an innovative, collaborative, inclusive, supportive environment, improved communication.
I have led, facilitated and mentored multi-national and multi-functional teams in UK and globally in my role as global head of nursing for the International Committee of Military Medicine. I was awarded Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA) in 2017 for my contribution to higher education globally.
